Educational Project

Educational Project

The educational project in Southern Methodist Educational Network is guided by the concepts and outlines established by the Methodist Church in the duty of its educational mission.
The Diretrizes para a Educação da Igreja Metodista (DEIM), consolidated in the General Council in 1985, rule the principles in the Pedagogical/Administrative/Institutional Project, which activities and methods must accomplish:

 - The social role of our institution under the perspective of Christian values;
 - The commitment with the technical and technological advance under the perspective of Ethics;
 - The critical and creative discussion on the administrative and pedagogical processes and products;
 - The practice of effective participation of everyone involved as co-workers;
 - The reorganization of purposes and objectives within time and space;
 - The opening for a wide range of differences;
 - The commitment with the common fights in favor of overwhelmed people’s justice and rights;
 - The vocation which all of us have been called by: opposition to all signals of death in favor of all signals of individual and collective life;

In this sense, the institution develops an education which is committed with the “ better qualified instruction in its different phases, allowing people to develop critical consciousness and their commitment with the society transformation”, through the statement that “ the individual practice of the institutions will be characterized by constant improvement aiming at democratizing the decisions as much as possible”. (DEIM, 1982)
